THE PAPER: MIRAGE 蜃気楼 TSURUGAOKA MUSEUM

The Kamakura Hall was the main building of the Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura & Hayama, which was founded in 1951 as the first public modern art museum in Japan. Located within precincts of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, this unique building is known as one of the most important works of architect Junzo Sakakura, who pursued the idea of “design for humanity”. Despite having been closed in 2016, it reopened in June 2019 as Tsurugaoka Museum Kamakura, which seeks to pass on the culture, history and rich nature of Kamakura to the future.
This story, shot by photographer Adi Putra in the architectural masterpiece from the Japanese Modernist movement, explores the world of TĔLOPLAN, which was inspired by the inherited history and architectural concept.

1951年に日本で初の公立近代美術館として誕生した、神奈川県立美術館の旧鎌倉館。鶴岡八幡宮の境内に佇み独特な景観を生み出してきたこの建築は、「人間のためのデザイン」を追求し続けた建築家・坂倉準三の代表作としても知られる。2016年に一度閉館するものの、2019年6月には鎌倉に脈打つ文化や歴史、豊かな自然を語り継ぐという新しい使命をもった鎌倉文華館 鶴岡ミュージアムとして新たに開館した。
日本のモダニズム建築を代表する名建築を舞台に、脈々と受け継がれた歴史と建築コンセプトからインスパイアされたTELOPLANの世界観を写真家のAdi Putraが撮り下ろしたストーリー。
